Relaxing Travel Secrets

Relax in your own far away hammock.

Relaxing Travel - Sometimes the best trips don't really involve travel at all. The whole point of a vacation is to do nothing and just relax.

For hard-working people who like to play and travel hard, this may be the most difficult secret to understand and accept. I certainly have this problem.

To solve it, I simply understand that I cannot relax for the first part of my trip.

I travel hard when I begin a trip.

I try to see, visit and do everything.

Sometimes I drive hundreds of miles, if not thousands, until I get to a point, where I realize the stupidity of my actions.

Now, I can relax.

I find a special beach, mountain lookout, favorite park bench or café in Paris and learn to relax. It's tough, but somebody has to do it.

Learning all phases of travel is important. There is so much to see, feel and learn to understand. Yet, there's also a point where one must stop and smell the roses.  Relax and do nothing...

My relaxing vacation included this beach on Ios, Greece.

After finishing a rather difficult masters program at Colorado State University, I decided to travel to a lonely Greek island, Ios, and do nothing for a month.

It was the hardest thing I've ever done...

I'm so glad I did it. My mind and spirit healed among the revelry of the partying Swedes, French, Germans, Italians, and, yes, a few Americans.

I learned not to take myself and the world so seriously.

It was a great lesson to learn.

Good travel will rescue you and your spirit every time.

Try a relaxing travel vacation and get in touch with the gentler you!

And what better than a beach vacation in a far-off location that you probably only dreamt about? Perhaps even on a private island with deserted beaches. How about the Seychelles Islands in the western Indian Ocean?
